Star Trek

I love Star Trek - especially the original series. This weekend TVLAND at night is broadcasting all Star Trek. The crew wore uniforms. It sems to me the uniforms were not even utilitarian as most uniforms. I'm not even sure if they had pockets. They were ok, although the women had very mini uniforms. Minis weren't even in style then. Was it sexism? Or just a glimpse of the future as the rest of the show? Or was it to achieve higher ratings? The Vulcans had interesting fashions. I love the long flowing gowns.

I find it interesting so many of the clothes of the beings from other planets, galaxies, or solar systems had similar fashion.

Ooops - Star Trek is on NOW!!! I'm going to watch!

Live long and prosper.

And notice that in the movies, made during the 1980's & 90's (15 - 20 years after the original), the uniforms were more military-like, with no mini-skirts.
