Brazil

Brazil is a fabulous country. Rio is home to Carnivale - similar to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Brazil's reputation has alway been one of adventure, excitement, and letting it all go. That's only a piece of the real Brazil. Recently the Courts banned youtube.com as there is a video of a Brazilian model in a compromising position that can't be blocked in Brazil (youtube tried, but it keeps getting put up again).

Now tha fashion industry has taken a very major step. The have totally banned models under age 16. Apparently the death of a 21 year old model from anorexia has hit home. Models must also present a medical certificate of good health.

This is a good thing for all - the models, the industry, and those that may try to look like models. Brazil is to be applauded for this giant step.

The new Collections are due for showings the end of January in Sao Paulo.
